Watch Episode:
Daily Scripture Readings: If you’re reading along with us, today’s McCheyne Reading Plan passages are:
Deuteronomy 10
Psalm 98
Isaiah 38
Revelation 8
Take 15-20 minutes to read these chapters, then come back and join me.
Scripture Reading: Genesis 3:8 (ESV) And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool[a] of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Key Points:
God created the Garden of Eden as a place of perfect harmony and communion with Him
Adam and Eve walked with God in intimacy and trust, not just gaining knowledge
The temptation was to seek knowledge over relationship/intimacy with God
Today, we can feel spiritually dry despite having access to immense biblical knowledge
Our primary calling is to walk intimately with God, not just know about Him
Practical tips for intimacy: daily quiet times, journaling, nature walks, sabbath rest, community
Takeaway: “It’s not about what you know, but who you’re with. The vibrant life we long for is found in intimacy with Jesus, not just knowledge accumulation.”

Today’s Readings from the Plan:
2 Samuel 15, 2 Corinthians 8, Ezekiel 22, Psalm 3-4
Focus Passage: Psalm 4:1-8 ESV
Read the Text, Meditate on it, Pray Through It, & Contemplate the Impact
“Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have given me relief when I was in distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer! O men, how long shall my honor be turned into shame? How long will you love vain words and seek after lies? Selah But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him. Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord. There are many who say, “Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!” You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

“Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Focus Passage: Psalm 91:1-6 ESV

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
